Students may bring a favourite story book on Friday to share. We will be reading our favourite books with a friend and then discussing why we chose it. Making reading meaningful is essential for success. Making text to text and text to self connections are important to make meaning.
We are also working on questioning, answers and higher level thinking through the subject areas. Today we played "mme's jeopardy". This was a challenge! We are very comfortable giving one answer. The kids were very excited to get their questions correct. If you get a chance to watch a bit of Jeopardy with them in the next few days I'm sure they'd love it.

Home reading logs
The Boston Pizza home reading logs will be sent home tomorrow. For each completed log your child earns a certificate for a kids meal at BP. Last year we earned $300 as well towards our school library. This year we're hoping to earn $500.
A new sheet will be sent home every time the completed log is turned in.
Happy Reading!

Pumpkin Spice Muffins
Good afternoon,
Today we will be baking together. Last night I baked one of the pumpkins that we had worked with during throughout the day. We will use the meat from the pumpkin in our muffins. The recipe is very simple and I have included it below. This recipe works with almost any fruit, just omit/change the spices accordingly.
